State high school rodeo finals underway in Fort Pierre

FORT PIERRE, S.D. – The South Dakota High School State Rodeo Finals are underway in Fort Pierre.

On Wednesday, winners were crowned in the boys cutting, girls cutting and reined cow horse.

At the top with 86.50 points in the boys cutting was Rope Roghair of Isabel. Gabe Glines of Smithwick was second with 76 points.

In the girls cutting, Ryan Sheppick of Pierre was at the top of the leaderboard with 82 points. Ramey Schack of Tolstoy was second with a 70.50 and Kimberly Johnson of Mud Butte was third with a 66.

Sheppick also won the reined cow horse with a score of 89. Chase Brunsch of Pine Ridge was second with a 82.50 and Jakob Long of Enning was third with a 71.50.
