State issues Amber Alert for abducted one-year old.

Update – Amber Alert cancelled after abducted child found

sSIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Sioux Falls Police say an Amber Alert issued earlier Friday has been resolved after a 1-year-old child abducted at gunpoint was recovered safely.

Shortly before 2 p.m. Friday, March 14, the Sioux Falls Police Department announced the recovery of 1-year-old Javion Bluebird. The child was unharmed.

Javion was the center of an Amber Alert issued early Friday after police say 29-year-old Lelana Sitting Up abducted him from an apartment complex in the 700 block of West 18th Street.

Police spokesman Sam Clemens said that at approximately 9:40 p.m. Thursday, Sitting Up had threatened a 66-year-old woman with a firearm. After taking custody of the child, Sitting Up and 17-year-old Tianna Bluebird left the premises, according to police.

Through the course of an investigation, authorities received a tip that Javion may be inside an apartment in the 100 block of South Summit Avenue in Sioux Falls. Due to the use of a handgun during the alleged abduction, the Sioux Falls Police Department’s SWAT and crisis negotiation teams were activated.

Inside the apartment, authorities located Tianna Bluebird as well as 22-year-old Helena Bluebird. Both were taken into custody.

Sitting Up, however, remains at-large, Clemens confirmed. She’s described as 5’3″ tall, weighing about 120 lbs. She has brown eyes, brown hair worn in a ponytail, a tattoo on the right side of her neck that reads, “No Excuses No Regrets.”
