State records 76 new cases of COVID-19 in Tuesday report

STURGIS, S.D. – The Department of Health reported 76 new cases of COVID-19 Tuesday, with 29 of those in the Black Hills area.

Pennington County saw the most as 25 new positive tests were reported. That sends the county’s cumulative total to 750 and the active caseload is up 16 to 160.

Meade County reported one additional case, giving them a cumulative total of 59 with 6 active cases. Lawrence County also reported an additional case, giving them a cumulative total of 24 with 4 active cases.

Butte County recorded two new COVID-19 cases, giving them a cumulative total of 7 with 4 active cases.

Oglala Lakota County reported three new cases, sending their cumulative total to 132. The county currently has 27 active cases.

The statewide active caseload is down 9 today to 820. The number of people currently hospitalized is down 3 to 62.

No new deaths were reported today, keeping the state’s death toll at 118.
