PIERRE, S.D. – The South Dakota Department of Health reported 25 positive tests for COVID-19 in their Saturday report.
The current number is now 212 – up from Friday’s 187.
All of the cases were again in eastern South Dakota as Lawrence remained at 9, Pennington remained at 6 and Meade and Fall River County remained at 1.
Minnehaha is the hardest hit area in the state as it now has 81 positive tests – up 13 from Friday. Beadle County and Lincoln County each have 21. In Beadle, 18 people have now recovered from the virus and it appears the spread has slowed there. The only other county with more than 10 cases is Yankton with 14.
To date, 76 people have recovered and 19 have been hospitalized. There have been 4 deaths, with two being reported yesterday, including State Representative Bob Glanzer of Huron who was one of the first state residents to contract the virus.
