STURGIS, S.D. – The Department of Health reported 283 new cases of COVID-19 Friday, up 20 from Thursday.
The new cases pushed the statewide active caseload to 2,515 and the number of people hospitalized due to the virus increased to 98, up 15 from yesterday.
Pennington County saw 30 new cases Friday, sending the cumulative total to 1,731. Of those, 329 are active – up two from Thursday.
Meade County had 7 new cases, increasing the cumulative total to 371. Active cases are up one to 87.
Lawrence County reported one case, giving them a total of 278 with 68 of them remaining active.
Custer County saw 7 new cases Friday, sending the cumulative total to 152 with 55 active.
Other new cases Friday include 2 in Butte and 3 in Fall River counties.
There was 1,713 new persons tested reported on Friday.
