State reports 48 new COVID-19 positive tests in Tuesday report

PIERRE, S.D. – There were 48 new cases of COVID-19 reported Tuesday by the South Dakota Department of Health.

Pennington County reported 5 new cases, giving them 518 in the cumulative total and 121 active cases. That is down 8 from Monday.

Meade County reported a new case as well, sending their cumulative total to 48 with 9 active cases.

Other new cases across western South Dakota included one each in Oglala Lakota, Corson, Todd and Tripp counties.

The statewide active caseload is 801 – a decrease of six from Monday.

There are 62 people currently hospitalized – down 8 from Monday.

There were no new COVID-19 related deaths reported today. That state’s total remains at 91.
