State reports 59 new COVID-19 cases Tuesday and one new death

PIERRE, S.D. – The state health department reported 59 new COVID-19 cases Tuesday, down 6 from yesterday. One new death was reported as well.

Pennington County saw three new cases, sending their cumulative total to 848 with 123 active cases. The active caseload is down 3 from Monday.

Meade County reported two new cases, sending their cumulative total to 78. The active number of cases is up one Tuesday to 16.

No new cases were reported in Lawrence, Custer or Butte counties.

The statewide active number of cases is down 11 today to 935. Currently, 42 people are hospitalized. That is up 3 from Monday.

With the new death, a man in his 80’s from Codington County, the state’s death toll is now 136.
