State sees another double digit increase in number of hospitalizations in Tuesday COVID-19 report

PIERRE, S.D. – The number of people hospitalized due to COVID-19 continues to rise, as South Dakota reported 171 new cases Tuesday.

Of those 171, 36 are listed as probable.

The number of people hospitalized totaled 124 today – up 12 from yesterday and up 28 since Saturday.

Active cases were down by 75 Tuesday to 2,078.

No new deaths were reported, keeping the state’s death toll at 1,953.

Across the Black Hills area, Pennington County reported 15 new cases Tuesday, with one of those listed as probable.

Both Lawrence and Meade Counties each had 3 new cases and Fall River County added one new case.

Oglala Lakota County had one new confirmed cases and one probable case.
