SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Aidan Hedderman’s goal during the Track and Field offseason was to set a new record in the 110 meter hurdles at the State Track Meet. On Saturday, he accomplished that goal – taking in the crisp morning air at Howard Wood Stadium, Hedderman crushed the state record and claimed his third gold medal.
Hedderman brought home the gold in a time of 13.88 seconds – setting a new record previously held by Talon Maxon of Rapid City Central. That previous record of 14.15 seconds was set in 2015.
Hedderman added one more gold medal to his resume Saturday, winning the 300 meter hurdles as well.
Elsewhere at the State Track and Field meet Saturday; Rapid City Stevens won the girls Class AA 4×100 meter relay in a time of 48.74 seconds. Maria Bouman of Spearfish won the girls Class AA 400 meter dash in a time of 58.09 seconds. Claudia Warner of Rapid City Stevens won the girls Class AA 200 meter dash in a time of 25.72 seconds. And, Reagan O’Neill of Bennett County was a double event winner, taking both the 100 meter and 200 meter dash. And in Class B, TyAnn Mortensen of Faith won the javelin throw, setting a new meet record of 117-02.
On the boys side, Braden Peterson of Hot Springs won the Class A 100 meter dash as well a the 200 meter dash. His time in the 100 meters was 10,94 seconds and in the 200, it was 22.59 seconds.
