SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The quarterfinals at the State Wrestling Girl’s Tournament saw some great action and some of our area wrestlers are moving on.
At 106 pounds, Maraia Kruske of Spearfish keeps her championship hopes alive with a pin of Jett Yaggie of Yankton. She moves to the semifinals tomorrow. She will wrestle Trinity Duran of Stevens in that match.
At 113 pounds, Shea Irion is headed to the semfinals with a victory over Sara Schroder of Canton. Brooklyn Baird of Sturgis is also headed to the semi’s with a pin of Aubrey Jensen of Viborg/Hurley. Baird will wrestle Quinn Butler of Lemmon tomorrow.
At 120 pounds, Brooklyn Brant lost her quarterfinal to Mary Kathe Joseph of Brandon Valley and heads to the wrestleback.
At 126 pounds, Sydney Badwound advances to the semfinals with a win over Hattie Baldwin of Pierre. Madison Snyder of Sturgis also advances with a 10-0 mutual decision over Arianna Gomez.
At 132, Taylor Graveman of Spearfish advances to the semi’s with a pin of Riley Buus of O’Gorman.
At 142, Jayden Werlinger of Spearfish lost her quarterfinal to Abbigail Lewis of Pierre and heads to the wrestleback.
At 154, Trinity Zopp of Lead-Deadwood advances to the semi’s with a pin of Natalia Long of Canton.
And in the heavyweight, Destiny Triplett of Douglas advances with a win over Maria Larson of Sioux Falls Lincoln.
