Structure fires in Wall, Jackson County over the weekend

WALL, S.D. – Fire crews in Wall and Kadoka responded to structure fires over the weekend.

In Wall, fire crews were dispatched to a home in the 1200 block of Eagle Circle just before 3:00 p.m. Saturday. First arriving firefighters found a free burning fire that extended into the roof of a home.

Crews with several area agencies quickly attacked the fire and were able to keep it to the structure of origin.

No injuries were reported, but the home was severely damaged. The American Red Cross was assisting the occupants of the home.

Meanwhile, firefighters in Jackson County responded to a structure fire outside of Kadoka Saturday.

According to the Kadoka Fire Department, first arriving units found a cabin located about 20 miles east of Kadoka engulfed in flames.

All occupants of the cabin were able to escape safely, but the structure was considered a total loss.

The cause of both fires were under investigation.
