Study shows Rapid City with higher number of rude drivers

RAPID CITY, SD – A recent study by Insurify has found that Rapid City has 5% ruder drivers more than the rest of South Dakota.

With 22.85 drivers per 1,000 cited for rude behavior, Rapid City hosts the rudest drivers in South Dakota. In fact, Rapid City’s share of rude drivers is 0.88% above the national average of 22.65 out of 1,000 drivers.

Researchers at Insurify analyzed their database of over 4 million car insurance applications to see which cities are home to the rudest drivers in 2021. In this analysis, rude driving is defined by having one or more of the following infractions on record: failure to yield violations, failure to stop violations, improper backing, passing where prohibited, tailgating, street racing, and hit-and-runs
