RAPID CITY, S.D. – At the State A Wrestling Tournament in Rapid City, the Sturgis Scoopers advanced six wrestlers on to the semifinals as day one wrapped up Thursday night.
The Scoopers will send Taryn Zebroski at 113, Tegan Zebroski at 120, Beau Peters at 132, Reese Jacobs at 182, Aiden Werlinger at 195 and Zac Juelfs at 220 to the semifinals.
Sturgis sits fourth in the team standings with 82 points. Pierre leads with 93.5, Brandon Valley is second with 92.5 and Watertown is third with 90.
On the girls side, the Scoopers send Brooklyn Baird to the semifinals at 113 and Madison Snyder at 126. Spearfish sends Maraia Kruske to the semi’s at 106 and Taylor Graveman at 132.
At the State B Tournament, Philip advanced four wrestlers on to the semifinals. They are Carter Kendrick at 106, Jace Blasius at 138, Blair Blasius at 152, and Burk Blasius at 170.
The Custer Wildcats advanced three wrestlers to the semifinals, including Parker Noem at 170, Jonathan Lewis at 160 and Tray Weiss at 113.
In the team standings, Canton sits on top with 87.5 points. Custer is second with 69 and Philip is third with 66.
