STURGIS, S.D. – Sturgis and AMA Pro Racing officials have decided to postpone Wednesday night’s scheduled forum that was set to release data from this year’s inaugural Sturgis TT Flat Track Race, which was held on the last day of this year’s rally.
In a release from AMA and the City of Sturgis, the request to postpone was based on a few factors.
They included several costs pending receipt and finalization from 3rd party vendors, and out of respect to the public, the budget needed official accounting verification once 100-percent of the debits/credits were received.
It was also requested that the 2025 Sturgis TT strategy be presented in conjunction with the 2024 review.
The 2024 review and 2025 strategies will now be shared at a public forum scheduled for Friday, October 11th.
Sturgis officials say more information was necessary to make the public meeting as thorough, informative and productive as should be expected. The decision follows this week’s meeting in which a very tight 2025 budget was released by Mayor Angela Wilkerson.
Additionally, the city assessed the 2024 AMA Pro Racing Sturgis TT agreement and verified that the newly proposed postponement date still falls within the agreed upon terms ,stating that the reconciliation meeting be hosted by October 11th.
