STURGIS, S.D. – The Sturgis Aquatic Committee hosted an open house Monday to gather input and information on the proposed Lakeside Adventure Park, slated to be built at the Sturgis Fairgrounds.
The open house was held at the Gymnasium at the Sturgis Community Center.
Consultants working on the park were on hand to share several potential park layout designs along with an assortment of amenities that could be provided within the park. The consultants also provided costs for all options.
Allison Creed with the Aquatics Committee says public feedback is essential for the project to be successful.
The public was invited to stop by to ask questions, share ideas, and submit their feedback for park amenities. The generated feedback will be taken into consideration when the final presentations are prepared and presented to the City Council later this fall.
Some of the ideas presented included a zip line, an aquatic fitness course, basketball court, mini golf course and waterfall.
