STURGIS, S.D. – The Sturgis Welcome Center is excited to announce a unique opportunity for artists to showcase their work in our newly-renovated facility. We are seeking captivating artworks that celebrate the essence of Sturgis, South Dakota, and its vibrant tourism, businesses, scenery, culture, agriculture, and recreation.
Selected artworks will be prominently displayed in various areas of the Sturgis Welcome Center from June 3rd 2024 through the end of the year, providing artists with excellent exposure to residents and visitors alike. The chamber says this is an exciting chance to contribute to the welcoming atmosphere of our Welcome Center and to share your creativity with the community and our visitors.
Submission Guidelines:
• Artists should submit high-quality images of their artworks for consideration.
• Artworks may be in any medium or size.
• Wall art must include a ready-to-hang, wrap-around finish or frame (please show framing in image submissions).
• Submissions must focus on themes related to Sturgis, SD area tourism, businesses, scenery, culture, agriculture,
history, and/or recreation.
• Successful artists must be able to deliver the selected artwork(s) to the Sturgis Welcome Center by June 14th,
2024.
• Artwork must be available for display through the end of the year and must be picked up between January 6th
and January 24th, 2025.
• Artists must sign a liability waiver excusing the Sturgis Area Chamber nonprofit from liability in case of damage,
theft, or other potential harm to artworks.
• Submission Deadline: Friday, May 31st 2024
• Artwork Delivered By: Friday, June 14th 2024
• Artwork Picked Up: Between January 6th and January 24th, 2025
To submit your artwork(s) for consideration, please send high-quality images along with your contact information and full specifications of your artworks (size, medium, title/subject, brief description, etc.) to [email protected]. You may also send a brief artist biography if desired. If you have multiple artworks to submit, please include details for each piece.
Our selection committee will review all submissions carefully and choose artworks that best capture the spirit of Sturgis and align with the goals of the Welcome Center.
