Sturgis Competitive Cheer is runner-up at home spirit competition

STURGIS, S.D. – The annual Sturgis Brown Spirit Competition was held Tuesday at West Gym at Sturgis Brown High School.

The home team Scoopers came in second, behind champion Rapid City Stevens. The Raiders captured the overall Cheer title with 161.5 points. Sturgis had 134 points and Rapid City Central placed third with 133. St Thomas More and Hot Springs round out the top five.

Winning the Grand Champion Dance Title was Rapid City Central, who edged out Rapid City Stevens.

Spearfish won the Jazz category, Stevens claimed the Pom and Central won the Hip Hop.
