STURGIS, S.D. – The Sturgis city council met in special session Monday to discuss approval of two separate annexation resolutions.
The first resolution approved was to annex a portion of the Oak Acres and Mountain View trailer parks.
The second resolution will annex in the Henrichsen Property at 540 Park Street.
Both properties are adjacent to current city limits.
Sturgis City Manager Daniel Ainslie says the properties involved in the annexation already receive city services, such as water and sewer, garbage removal and police and fire protection.
One of the priorities established by the city in the past few years is to better align the City’s boundaries with the areas where City service are available and provided.
