STURGIS, S.D. – The Sturgis City Council met Monday night for their second meeting in April with a full agenda.
The council got an update on the latest housing study conducted by Augustana Research Institute. The study represents a significant milestone in understanding and addressing housing challenges in our community.
The council also approved signing a contract with Devil’s Tower National Park to purchase tickets for the 2024 Mayor’s Ride. The ride will travel to Devil’s Tower this year, rather than Mount Rushmore, due to construction along U.S. Highway 385.
The council also approved a licensing agreement with Tom’s T’s L.L.C. as well as a professional services agreement with Kickflip L.L.C. This agreement is for Event Marks Development for the 85th through the 89th Sturgis Motorcycle Rally.
Also on the Monday night agenda was the canvassing of last week’s municipal election. Following the canvas, the council approved the election results.
