Sturgis Council grants use on review for Car Museum to become Harvest Host member

STURGIS, S.D. – The Sturgis City Council this week approved a use on review for the owner of the Car Museum on Dickson Drive.

Tom Donney submitted the use on review to allow dry camping.

Donney says he plans on becoming a Harvest Host, which allows people to dry camp in a parking lot overnight.

Harvest Hosts is a membership program that provides access to a network of wineries, farms, museums and other unique attractions that invite self-contained R.V.’ers to visit and stay overnight.

For a yearly membership fee, Harvest Hosts’ members are invited to stay at hundreds of interesting locations around North America and experience new opportunities to explore.

Donney says his goal is to provide meaningful experiences for R.V.’ers and Hosts alike and to be a good member of the community.

Donney has approximately 7 acres of land and he plans to use the land surrounding his museum for the Harvest Host program.
