STURGIS, S.D. – Sturgis fire crews responded to some hay bales on fire east of town Friday.
Volunteer Fire Chief Scott Lensegrav says the human caused fire destroyed several hay bales and burned some surrounding acreage as well.
Dry, windy conditions were not in firefighters favor and he’s urging people to be very careful during these dry conditions.
Meanwhile, Deadwood fire crews put out a dumpster fire behind a gift shop next door to the Saloon #10 Friday morning.
Crews were able to attack the fire from Highway 14A and keep it from spreading.
