STURGIS, S.D. – Sturgis area fire departments were paged to a structure fire at 4:29 AM Thursday morning at Bear Butte Lodge along Hwy 79 at the base of Bear Butte.
Sturgis Fire Chief Scott Lensegrav says the structure was fully engulfed when responders arrived.
Meade County Sheriffs office was first on scene followed by Sturgis Fire and EMS, Fort Meade, Vale and Whitewood fire departments, Meade County Emergency Management and the State Fire Marshal.
Lensegrav says the cause is under investigation. There were no reported injuries.
