A home on Williams Street in Sturgis is considered a total loss after a Sunday night fire.

STURGIS, S.D. – Sturgis Fire crews responded to a structure fire in the 1900 block of Williams Street late Sunday night.

Sturgis Fire Chief Scott Lensegrav says fire crews were dispatched to 1990 Williams Street at approximately 10:43 Sunday night to find flames visible and coming from the roof of the home.

Crews immediately went to work to attack the fire to keep it from spreading to neighboring structures.

He says the fire also did heavy damage to a 5th wheel camper in the driveway of the home and a small shed in a neighboring yard received some heat and fire damage.

The home sustained major structural damage.

No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is under investigation.

Fire crews from Fort Meade and Whitewood also responded to the call.
