Sturgis man hurt in motorcycle crash on Exit 32 off ramp

STURGIS, S.D. – Sturgis area first responders and the highway patrol responded to a single motorcycle crash Monday afternoon.

The South Dakota Highway Patrol says the 62-year-old man from Sturgis was riding a 2009 Harley Davidson westbound on I-90 when he took the Exit 32 off ramp, and lost control while downshifting.

The operator laid down his motorcycle which hit a directional sign.

The man suffered serious, but non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to the Sturgis Hospital. He was wearing a helmet.

The patrol says weather may have played a factor in the crash.
