Sturgis man to change plea in sex crimes case

SIOUX FALLS, S.D.  — A Sturgis man plans to plead guilty to attempted enticement of a minor during the 2022 motorcycle rally.

Authorities arrested 52-year-old Bobby Aldinger for having sexual conversations with an undercover agent posing as a 14-year-old girl.

A federal grand jury indicted Aldinger in November of 2022 for Attempted Sexual Exploitation of a Minor, Attempted Enticement of a Minor Using the Internet, Attempted Receipt of Child Pornography, and Attempted Transfer of Obscene Material to a Minor.

He pleaded not guilty to the indictment. A trial date was set for May 2, 2023.

He is scheduled to change his plea later this month. He could face anywhere from 10 years to life in federal prison.
