STURGIS, S.D. – In the local rally update from Sturgis Police, illegal parking issues are on the decline as the 82nd annual event heads into its final days.
Police reported issuing 5 parking citations in the past 24 hours, sending the event total so far to 107.
Law enforcement reported an additional 8 D-U-I arrests Wednesday, sending the total to 44 – which is four more than last year on this date.
Misdemeanor Drug arrests total 47 – well ahead of last year, while felony drug arrests total 13 – lower than last year at this time.
On other stats, police have reported 9 total underage consumption of alcohol citations and 24 drivers’ license violation or driving under revocation citations.
Injury accidents total 8 while non-injury accidents total 16. There were 3 non-injury crashes in the latest reporting period along with one injury accident.
