STURGIS, S.D. – In the local Sturgis Motorcycle Rally daily tally of calls and violations from the Sturgis Police Department, police have given out 90 parking citations so far, made 26 D-U-I arrests and responded to 4 injury accidents and 8 non-injury accidents.
Over the past 24 hours, there have been 15 D-U-I arrests and 3 felony drug possession arrests. D-U-I and felony drug arrests remain right in line with last year numbers on this date.
So far, there have been 50 non-traffic arrests and 82 total traffic-related arrests. Fifty people have been booked into the Meade County jail, with 20 of those occurring Sunday. Traffic arrests are down this year while non-traffic related arrests are up a bit.

It’s day four at the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally, and today and Tuesday are traditionally two of the biggest days of the week-long event.
As of Monday morning, the city had issued 733 temporary vending and temporary licenses.
On the city’s agenda is musical entertainment at Harley Davidson Rally Point, Jack Daniel’s events at the Liquor Store and a stunt show that rides at the Sturgis Community Center.
Today is also the 5th Annual Mayor’s Charity Poker Tournament in Deadwood.
