STURGIS, S.D. – Sturgis Police and the Meade County Sheriff’s Department joined other law enforcement agencies this morning for the unveiling of the Mission 22 Sturgis Police Vehicle.
Mission 22 provides wellness, resources, support and strength to veterans and their families.

Over the past few years, the Mission 22 non-profit organization has been getting its logos on area law enforcement vehicles – including those in Pennington County and Rapid City.
Sturgis Police Chief Geody Vandewater says Mission 22 has played a pivotal role for veterans who are struggling with mental health.
With Sturgis being a home to many veterans, Vandewater talks about the importance of the new Mission 22 police vehicle.
Cooper says Mission 22’s proven programs help Veterans living with post-traumatic stress, traumatic brain injury, or military sexual trauma. They provide free, long-term programs for Veterans that focus on growth and healing.
