STURGIS, S.D. – The Sturgis Post 33 Titans defeated the Belle Fourche Post 32 Broncs 11-1 in six innings Thursday night.
Titan bats came alive right away in the first inning as Kjell Sundstrom scored on a double by Elijah Stroud and Stroud ended up scoring on a wild pitch.
The Titans would add additional runs in the second, third and fourth innings.
Sturgis would put the game away in the bottom of the sixth inning, scoring four runs to win by the 10-run mercy rule.
Two of the four runs came home due to walks and the Titans’ winning run was scored on a wild pitch.
Starting Sturgis Pitcher Brody Royer scored five strike outs on the night and Aiden Wood added 6 more. Brand Matthews finished the game for Sturgis and added an additional strikeout.
