STURGIS, S.D. – When the City Council reviewed annual rate adjustments for 2021, they were able to reduce the water and wastewater rates and surcharges by $7.74 per month.
They also identified the need to raise sanitation rates by $2.00 per month. Those adjustments equaled an overall utility cost reduction of $5.74 per month.
The rate drop is a direct result of community growth.
As the total number of utility accounts increase, minimums and surcharges can be spread out resulting in lower monthly costs.
