Sturgis splits pair of games at Veteran’s Classic Saturday

RAPID CITY, S.D. – The Sturgis Titans split a pair of games to wrap up pool play at the Veteran’s Classic Baseball Tournament Saturday.

In game one, the Titans beat Alliance 12-9.

Owen Cass helped lead the Titans by going 2 for 4 at the plate with 2 R.B.I. and scoring four runs.

David Anderson added three runs.

Starting pitcher Aidan Wood allowed five runs on four hits and two walks while striking out two over three innings and 61 pitches.

In game two, the Titans fell to Renner 9-4.

In other action at the Veteran’s Classic, Post 22 was shut out by Mitchell 13-0.

And, Post 320 picked up a pair of victories with a 12-4 win over Plattsmouth and a 4-1 victory of Billings Post 406.
