STURGIS, S.D. – The Sturgis Council held oath of office for its newest members Tuesday night.
Alex Usera was sworn in to represent Ward 1 and Mark Chaplin was sworn in to represent Ward 3.
The two were elected in a special election held earlier this month.
Once the two were sworn in, the council moved to elect a new Council President with the appointment of previous Council President Kevin Forrester as Mayor.
Tony Dargatz was elected by his peers to serve as Council President. Ruth Kopp will continue to serve as Vice-President of City Council.
