CHAMBERLAIN, S.D. – The Sturgis Titans picked up two wins over the Aberdeen Smitty’s in Wednesday night doubleheader action in Chamberlain.
The Titans won game one 13-3 and game two 10-0.
In game one, Sturgis opened up the scoring right away, scoring three runs in the first inning. The Titans added 2 in the second and led 5-0 before Aberdeen got on the board in the bottom of the third.
The Titans scored another 3 in the fifth and five in the seventh to put the game out of reach.
Colton Cruickshank had 2 hits and an R.B.I. to help lead the Titans. John Fischer and David Anderson each added an R.B.I.
Fischer got the pitching win, working five innings and striking out six.
In game two, Sturgis scored in every inning and shut out Aberdeen, in a five-inning shortened game due to the 10 run rule.
The Titans scored 3 in the first, 2 in the second, 3 in the third and 2 in the fourth.
Dustin Alan, Ridge Inhofer and Owen Cass each had 3 hits for the Titans. Colton Cruickshank added three R.B.I.’s.
Cruickshank also got the pitching win, going 5 innings and striking out four.
