Sturgis Titans go 1-1 in Saturday play at Williston Tournament

STURGIS, S.D. – The Sturgis Titans went 1-1 as they played two games Saturday at the Williston Tournament.

In their first game up, the Titans dropped a hard-fought game to the Williston Keybirds 4-3.

The Titans scored first, opening the game with a run in the top of the first. Williston answered with 2 runs to take the lead in the bottom half of the first. The Keybirds then added another run in the bottom of the second.

Williston kept the 3-1 lead until the top of the sixth, when Post 33 tied it up at 3 with 2 runs.

The Keybirds were able to drive in the winning run in the bottom of the sixth.

David Anderson had 2 hits and an R.B.I. for Post 33.

In game two, the Titans earned a 15-0, four inning win over the Bottineau Braves.

Sturgis scored 8 runs in the second and 7 in the third to put the game away.

Dustin Alan had 3 hits and 2 R.B.I. while Owen Cass had 4 R.B.I. for Sturgis.
