STURGIS, S.D. – The Sturgis Public Works Department says they were hoping to have water restored to an area of town after investigation into a water leak began yesterday.
The department says South Dakota Rural Water arrived today to assist in trying to pinpoint the exact spot of the leak.
After searching, officials found a service line that feeds Sturgis Williams Middle School was leaking, and not the initial water main. That’s good news, and crews were working on the repair Wednesday afternoon. They were hoping to have water restored by Wednesday evening.
The leak affected areas on Cedar Street from Douglas to Boulevard Street and Edmunds & Boulevard Streets between Cedar and Spruce.
