PIERRE, S.D. – The Department of Health on Sunday reported 45 new cases of COVID-19, with no new deaths.
Of the new cases, 12 of them were in western South Dakota.
Pennington County reported five new cases, sending their cumulative total to 635 with 140 active.
Other new cases include three in Oglala Lakota, two in Dewey and one each in Jackson and Todd counties.
The statewide active caseload is 868 – down seven from Saturday.
The number of people that are currently hospitalized due to COVID-19 is 53, that number is down 12. The number of people that have ever been hospitalized is 738.
No new deaths due to the virus were reported, leaving the state’s total at 109.
