PIERRE, S.D. – The number of new COVID-19 cases Sunday totaled 427 and there were no new deaths.
The South Dakota Department of Health says of the 427 new cases, 82 are considered probable.
With no new deaths, the death toll remains at 1,446.
Active cases have dropped below 7,000, with 6,695 being reported Sunday.
The number of people hospitalized dropped 15 to 274.
New cases across West River totaled 109, with Pennington County reporting the largest amount of new cases with 60. There are now 10,909 total cases being reported in Pennington County, and of them, 988 remain active.
Lawrence County had the second most new cases Sunday with 16. There are 155 active cases remaining in Lawrence.
Meade County added 8 new cases Sunday and there are 155 remaining active.
Other new cases West River included 6 each in Oglala Lakota and Dewey, 3 each in Fall River and Stanley, 2 each in Perkins and Corson and one each in Todd, Jackson and Butte counties.
