STURGIS, S.D. – Severe weather brought large hail and damaging wind to parts of the area Sunday afternoon and evening.
In northeastern Wyoming, wind gusts clocked at 80 mph brought damage to Weston and Campbell Counties.
Several powerpoles were knocked down and a 30-inch diameter tree was snapped in Campbell County and damage was also reported near Oshoto in Crook County.
In South Dakota, hail the size of tennis balls fell on parts of Pactola Reservoir, where damaged was reported to vehicles and boats. The Sheridan Lake area also reported 3-inch hail.
In north-central Meade County, the Maurine area reported large hay bales blown across the road and a roof was blown off of a structure. There were also reports of leaning power poles due to the wind.
