RAPID CITY S.D. — The Rapid City Police Department and Pennington County Sheriff’s Office are investigating a suspicious death on the city’s north side.
Shortly before 9:30 Tuesday morning, officers and deputies responded to a report of a person lying prone in the 3000 block of Dane Lane.
They found a Native American woman who they determined was deceased.
Investigators from both the police department and sheriff’s office were called in and continue to look into the suspicious death. An autopsy is planned.

The woman’s identity is being withheld until family can be notified.
