RAPID CITY, S.D. – Jayden Taken Alive of McLaughlin and Jade Ecoffey of Red Cloud won their respective races at the Lakota National Invitational Cross Country meet in Rapid City Saturday.
Taken Alive won the boys race in a time of 18:07.88. Bailen Hayford of Rapid City Central won second and two of his teammates, Tarin Hutchinson and Thane Radke, came in third and fourth respectively.
Ecoffey won the girls race in a time of 19:24.50. Her teammate, Ashland Blount came in second.
Larissa McElroy of Wyoming Indian placed third and another Red Cloud runner, Rarity Cournoyer, placed fourth.
Winning the boys team title was Rapid City Central with White River second and Wyoming Indian third.
Winning the girls team title was Red Cloud with Rapid City Central second and Wyoming Indian third.
