Tanker trailer fire shuts down portion of I-90

BLACK HAWK, S.D. – A fire involving a tanker trailer shut  down a portion of I-90 near Black Hawk Friday afternoon.

The Harms Oil tanker was parked on the side of the westbound side of the Interstate near Exit 52.

The fire scorched the back side of the oil tanker truck trailer and burned a small amount of grass along the roadway.

Officials shut down the Interstate in the area and were re-routing traffic around the tanker.

Once the fire was extinguished, officials opened up the Interstate, although it was one lane through the incident area on the westbound side.

The cause of the fire was under investigation.
