Teen receives prison sentence for attempted store hold up

RAPID CITY, S.D. – A 19-year-old Rapid City man was given 10 years in prison with two years suspended after pleading guilty to robbery.

Ethan DuBray was accused of pulling a gun on a gas station attendant in 2023 and demanding money. When the clerk was unable to open the register, DuBray took cigarettes and fled the store.

Prosecutors asked for 10 years due to DuBray’s behavior in jail in which he threatened a police officer.

DuBray’s attorneys asked for four years suspended, but the judge approved two.
