Thirteen COVID-19 related deaths reported in latest report

PIERRE, S.D. – South Dakota surpassed 2,200 COVID-19 related deaths Monday as 13 were reported. The state’s death toll rose from 2,189 Friday to 2,202 today. Of the new deaths, there were two out of Lawrence County and one each out of Meade, Oglala Lakota and Pennington.

New COVID-19 cases reported were 354 with 89 of those listed as probable.

Active cases are at 5,819 and the number of people hospitalized was 193.

Around the Black Hills area, 72 new cases were reported in Pennington County with 9 of those listed as probable.

Meade County reported 13 confirmed cases and 2 probable and Lawrence County had 9 confirmed new cases.

Elsewhere, Butte County listed 7 new cases, Oglala Lakota reported 10, four new cases were reported in Custer and Harding County had a new case.
