PIERRE, S.D. – The South Dakota Department of Health reported 510 new cases of COVID-19 in their Monday report. Of those 510, 82 were listed as probable.
Thirteen new COVID-19 related deaths were also reported, sending the state’s death toll to 2,469. Of the new deaths, two were out of Pennington, two were out of Butte County and one was out of Lawrence County.
Active cases of the virus totaled 7,224 Monday and there are 244 people hospitalized. Monument Health reports 42 of the hospitalizations with 12 in the I.C.U. and 14 on ventilators.
New cases across the Black Hills included 49 total in Pennington County, with 3 of those listed as probable.
Meade County had 11 confirmed cases and 2 probable and both Lawrence and Butte County confirmed two new cases each.
Elsewhere, Oglala Lakota County added 7 new cases, Custer County had 5 and there were 3 new cases out of Fall River County.
