Thirteen new deaths reported in this week’s COVID-19 update

Weekly COVID-19 Report

PIERRE, S.D. – This week’s COVID-19 update showed 871 new cases of the virus being reported.

There were 41 new hospitalizations and 76 people currently hospitalized.

Active cases were up a bit to 616.

Health officials reported 13 new deaths among cases this past week, sending the state’s death toll to 3,078. Two of those deaths were reported out of Pennington County.

Across the Black Hills, Pennington County reported 68 new cases, Lawrence County added 30 and Meade County had 13.

Elsewhere, Fall River and Oglala Lakota County each reported 9 new cases, Butte County had 7, Custer County listed 4 and Harding County reported one new case.
