STURGIS, S.D. – On September 17, 2024, the Meade County Sheriff’s Office, in collaboration with the Summerset Police Department, conducted an investigation into a theft that occurred earlier this month in Summerset.
As a result of this joint effort, a search warrant was executed at a mobile home located in the 9000 block of Willow Street, Blackhawk, SD.
During the search, several thousand dollars’ worth of stolen tools and equipment were recovered. These items had been stolen from both a business in Rapid City and a burglary in Summerset. Additionally, illegal drugs and other contraband were found at the residence.
Two individuals were arrested during the initial search:
- Andrew Artmann, 35, of Blackhawk, SD
- Sasha Tayle, 20, of Blackhawk, SD
Following this operation, a second search warrant was obtained, resulting in the arrest of a third individual:
- Scott Miller, 41, of Blackhawk, SD
Sheriff Pat West of Meade County commented on the success of the operation:
“This investigation highlights the exceptional interagency cooperation between Summerset, Rapid City, and the Meade County Sheriff’s Office. Criminals don’t adhere to county or jurisdictional lines, so our ability to work hand in hand with surrounding law enforcement agencies is key to our success. When assistance was needed, everyone stepped up without hesitation. Beyond recovering a substantial amount of stolen property, we ensured that young children involved were safely placed in a secure environment. These individuals will now face justice for their actions.”
