Three new deaths; 209 new cases in Wednesday COVID-19 report

PIERRE, S.D. – New COVID-19 cases Wednesday totaled 209, with 68 of them listed as probable.

Three new deaths were reported, sending the state’s death toll to 1,782.

Active cases of the virus dropped 48 today to 2,552 and the number of people hospitalized was up slightly to 133.

Across the Black Hills area, Pennington County reported 29 new cases with 4 of them listed as probable. The total number of cases in Pennington County is 12,424 and active cases are down to 292.

Lawrence County had 4 new cases, with two listed as probable, and Meade County listed 5 new, confirmed cases.

Fall River added 3 new cases with 2 of them probable and Custer County added one new, confirmed case Wednesday.
