PIERRE, S.D. – COVID-19 cases across South Dakota totaled 231 Thursday, with 59 of them considered as probable cases.
The South Dakota Department of Health says 2,487 cases remain active. That is down 35 from Wednesday’s 2,522.
The number of people hospitalized because of the virus dropped as well today from 104 Wednesday to 98.
Three new deaths were reported, sending the state’s death toll to 1,938.
Across the Black Hills area, there were 17 confirmed cases and 2 probable cases.
Pennington County had 6 confirmed cases, Lawrence County added 5, Meade reported 3, Fall River had 2 and Oglala Lakota had one new case.
The two probable cases were in Pennington and Meade.
