Three new deaths reported in Friday COVID-19 Report

PIERRE, S.D. – State health officials reported three new deaths Friday in their daily COVID-19 report. The 13 deaths reported this week send the state’s total since the pandemic began to 1,980. Of the 3 new deaths reported today, one was a male in this 30’s. The other two were in males 80-years or older.

New COVID-19 cases today totaled 78 with 21 of them listed as probable.

Active cases and hospitalizations continued their decline. Active cases are down to 1,251 and the number of hospitalizations dropped from 90 Thursday to 77 Friday.

Across the Black Hills area, Pennington County reported 9 total new cases. Of those, 2 are considered as probable.

Custer County added 4 new cases today while Meade County added 3. Butte County was the only other Black Hills area county to report one new case.
