PIERRE, S.D. – State health officials reported 393 new cases of COVID-19 in their Thursday report. That is up from Wednesday’s 251.
Active cases dropped over 600 to 9,145. The number of people hospitalized decreased to 223.
Eight new deaths were reported today, sending the state’s death toll to 2,766.
Across the Black Hills area, Pennington County saw 33 new cases. Both Lawrence and Meade counties reported 9 new cases each.
Elsewhere, Oglala Lakota County also reported 9 new cases, Custer County listed 3 and Fall River and Butte County each reported 2.
